customer requirement :

  • Fix the deterioration of materials (origin, development, processing… ).
  • Propose technical solutions for a future certification. CONIDIA as an independent laboratory step in upstream of the certification process to design and carry out specific tests to help you validate compliance of your materials.
  • Prove the durability of your products
  • Improve transportation, storing in France and abroad
  • Screening of the effectiveness of fungicides prior to incorporation into the material.
  • Test the resistance of materials to the microorganisms (moulds, bacteria, algae).

Qualified staff:

The phases of analysis of customer needs and design tests are supported by Mr Vacher, PhD in microbiology and expert on the interactions between microorganisms-materials and biocides. The qualified staff working CONIDIA is following all the usual recommendations to avoid cross contamination of products and avoid risks with manipulation of microorganisms. 12 years experience in the highly specialized field of molds.

Achievable standards: ISO846, ASTM D3273, MIL STD 810G, RTCA DO160G – section 13 (aerospace standard), IEC 60068-2-10, EN 15101 (standard for bio-based material), JIS Z 2801 (antibacterial properties of materials). For specific essays algae on coatings (paints, varnish…): standard EN 15458 (october 14).

Climate chambers regulated in temperature and humidity, microscopes and magnifiers coupled to shooting devices, software of image analysis, PCR systems for identification of microorganisms + specific areas for algae growth (climatic rooms with daylights).

Work flow:

The CONIDIA teams work either with microorganisms strains from international collections or with strains directly involved in the degradation of customer products. Working with these specific strains used to be closer to the conditions of manufacture, storage and use of products which is a real benefit.

Study report:

It contains a precise description of the performed work with illustrative photographs, as well as advices and action plans to implement. If isolated and identified microorganisms are specific to a product, the report also contains its ID.

Examples of works:

Assiatance for the development of new plasterboards resistant to mold growth, development of new methods to quantify the growth of mold in a bio-based material, mold risk analysis in a Parisian museum before introduction of collections, validation methods of decontamination of large surfaces of insulation contaminated in an University (Saudi Arabia),  Audit on a leather production site (China) to reduce fungal pressure …
