Molds and contaminated soils

Mold of the soils are part of the micro-flora which will contribute to degrade naturally pollutants. Thanks to the elasticity of their genomes, adaptations to a polluted environment can be fast for these microorganisms during the successive generations. CONIDIA is working on the adaptation of molds to pollutants which revealed that Botrytis cinerea can adapt to high concentrations of heavy metals that are used for example to destroy it (in the case of Copper Bordeaux mixture).
